AUA Annual Conference 2019

April 15 @ 8:00 am - April 16 @ 6:00 pm

Purple is delighted to be sponsoring and exhibiting at the AUA’s National Conference this year. Join us April 15th-16th to hear what Education Professionals are doing to future proof their institutions and make way for Digital Transformation.

“Higher education, the “oxygen of opportunity” in society, plays a key role in preparing individuals and communities for the uncertainties of the future. In recent years, the tectonic plates of demography and politics have shifted the UK higher education landscape. We have seen higher education criticised heavily in the press as contemporary issues such as employer and student expectations, vice chancellors’ pay, technological disruption and reduced funding are threatening our current higher education model.

The theme of the upcoming Conference has been designed with these issues in mind – “Higher Education: Fit for the future?”, as we are grappling with such questions as:

Are our universities responding and adapting to our rapidly developing world?

Are the benefits of education perceived as diminishing?

What role will governments, institutions, individuals play in making sure that higher education is fit for the future?

The higher education sector must adapt to the new conditions and demonstrate to the government and the public its value and role in nurturing talent for Britain’s tomorrow.

Set for a third (and final) year in Manchester, the birthplace of the industrial revolution, the suffragette movement and modern computer science, the AUA Conference is a must for all, as an individual and from an institution perspective. From our excellent programme, delegates will be able to identify, develop and practice the knowledge and perspectives we need to equip ourselves into the future.”
